PRODUCT UPDATE NOTICE!

This notice is in regards to our line of 8 foot long fiberglass products. Due to continued decreases in the standard parcel shipping length maximum dimensions, we will be transitioning from stocking 8 foot long goods down to 7 foot 11 inches. Oversize 3 shipping category triggers at 96.02 inches with FedEx and UPS which immediately increases the shipping cost for a $30.00 package up to $140.00. The 7 foot 11 inch maximum length will allow for near 8 foot usable length and can still be shipped via standard carriers! This will slightly affect 4 foot goods as they are routinely cut from 8 foot goods. If a “4 footer” is cut from a 7 foot 11 inch piece we will now be cutting the long piece “in-half”. This will make 4 foot goods approximately 3 feet 11.5 inches long. This transition will take place over the next month (August 2019).

Shipping

The easiest way to figure shipping is to add all of the fiberglass tube and rods to your cart. Click either view cart or the cart icon at the top right of any page. You DO NOT need to create an account to get a shipping quote. To get a quote when on the cart screen follow these steps:

Step 1

Max-Gain systmes, Inc. shipping calculator

Click view cart or click the cart icon in the top right of any page. Scroll down the page till you see the “calculate shipping” link under the “Cart Totals” section. Click that link.

Step 2

Max-Gain systmes, Inc. shipping calculator 02

Fill out Country, State, City, and Zip. Our system quotes accurately and requires that information to work properly.

Step 3

Max-Gain systmes, Inc. shipping calculator 03

If you see the “spinning” icon, please wait for your shipping options to populate. It may take a few moments to get all the accurate quotes.

Step 4

Max-Gain systmes, Inc. shipping calculator 04

Select your desired shipping option and click “Proceed to checkout”. Additional information will be needed for the checkout process.

For 8 foot goods, if you need the full lengths to be shipped, we can still transport these by normal carriers such as FedEx. (This length does not require the far more expensive motor-freight shipping that longer goods would.) Any goods longer than 8 feet would ship at the oversize 3 rating system which starts at $120.00 and climbs. While FedEx does transport 8 foot long goods, they are still considered “oversize 2” and have additional handling and shipping charges added because of the “dimensional weight”. Figure that you can ship a single 8 foot, or up to 70 pounds of goods in the same box for that same oversize shipping cost. (Figure that the box and packaging weighs 3 pounds.) With this in mind, many people combine orders with friends or family, and everyone splits the shipping cost for a SUPER deal! Ordering over 70 pounds of goods is of course, just fine, but will need a second box to travel in.

Note: The 2 foot and 4 foot goods are not considered “oversize” when shipping. The shipping costs for the 2 foot and 4 foot goods are determined by total weight (The weight of the goods plus 3 pounds for the box and packing). The 2 foot and 4 foot goods can be ordered along with the 8 foot goods to achieve the most yield of the 70 pound maximum weight per box when ordering oversized goods.

Duties, customs charges, VAT, and / or  brokerages fees, (if any might apply for your country) are impossible for the shipper to determine, and are ALWAYS the responsibility of the purchaser. International customers agree to pay any and all additional charges that may be billed to cover these items.

CUSTOM CUTTING

We frequently get questions from customers, asking if we can cut our fiberglass (most of which is stocked in 8 foot lengths) before shipping.

We do offer custom cutting of our stocked tube and rod lengths. Either for getting you under the oversize shipping dimensions or if your project requires certain lengths, we can cut it to length. Cutting is available for a small charge of $2.50 per cut. We bundle ordered goods to minimize overall cuts and only charge for cuts made.

The usual reason is to save a great deal of money on shipping.  Shipping can be calculated if you are ordering stock goods in the shopping cart. For special cuts, please inquire here, and we can quote on your needs.

At other times, the customer just wants the cut length accomplished before the goods are shipped so they are ready for a specific use immediately on delivery.

In either case, NO PROBLEM! Simply tell us your cutting instructions here and we can quote.

On shipments from our retail warehouse, there is a cutting charge of $2.50 per cut. If we can bundle several pieces of your order together and cut them all at one time (such as when 20 pieces of small diameter rod is all being cut to the same length) this still just counts as one cut, and the charge is just $2.50 per cut. The number we can bundle for a single cut depends, of course, on the diameter and type of product ordered, but we will always do our best to save you money on the cuts.

*****On whole sale / OEM quantity orders  ($400 minimum order) of round tube and round solid rod that we can ship direct from our factory, there is NO CHARGE for cutting.

Tolerances:  At our retail warehouse, we do “rough cuts” only, with best tolerance of 1/8 inch. At the factory we have far more elaborate diamond saws, and can easily cut to tolerances of 1/16 inch at no extra charge. Tighter tolerances ARE possible from the factory, but usually carry additional charges. (Inquire) Let us quote on your needs!

Most requested cutting of 8 foot goods to avoid “oversize” shipping charges, examples:

Cutting into thirds, 32″/32″/32″ would be $5.00

Cutting into quarters, 24″/24″/24″/24″ would be $7.50
