Type F adapters are commonly known for use in "over the air" television, cable television, satellite television, and cable modems. The commonality of F connectors found in televisions has reigned since the 1960's and was later used UHF applications. Type F adapters are 75 ohm and are used in applications up to ~1 GHz. Type F connectors are also referred to as F-81 connectors, F-Type connectors, Type F connectors, cable TV connectors, Satellite connectors, and TV connectors. Type F Connectors are commonly misidentified as mini-UHF connectors. Be sure to look closely at the features of the males and females to tell the differences.
