Do you have a vacuum capacitor or vacuum tuner that is removed from equipment, new or used, working or not performing properly? We test, buy, sell, recycle, and in some select cases “refurbish” vacuum capacitors and vacuum tuners of all major manufacturers. We also buy, sell, and recycle vacuum relays.

Step 1:

In the Subject line please type “vacuum capacitor for test,” “vacuum capacitor for sale,” “vacuum capacitor for recycling,” or something along those lines.

Tell us the capacitor(s) you have and what you wish to do with it: buy, sell, trade, have tested/possible refurbish, recycle, etc…

Step 2:

We will respond within one business day (not counting weekends and holidays). If we do not respond within 1 business day then we did not receive your email for whatever reason and please call us at 770-973-6251. We will always respond within that time frame if we receive your email. We will correspond with you to determine the best course of action.

Step 3:

When prompted through email to ship your capacitor(s) to us we will ask that you provide a printed copy of your email correspondence in your package as well as your full name, address, and phone number and write your personal quote number on the box or shipping label. As the customer you only initally risk your initial shipping to us as we will discuss options so that bad capacitors are disposed of properly or returned to you if you so choose (at additional expense). We charge for testing and any return shipping. We will go over this in detail in our correspondence emails before we proceed.

Packaging and Shipping a Vacuum Capacitor:

How to package fragile goods and tips to make anything arrive alive

1. Treat vacuum capacitors like eggs!

Vacuum Capacitors are made of glass or ceramic, both of which are extremely fragile.


2. Do not ship multiple units so that they could POSSIBLY touch each other.

When shipping multiple vacuum capacitors, ship them in their original packaging (when available), in a separate box, or wrap each one in bubble wrap and have several inches of packing between each other.

3. Use an appropriately-sized box.

Too many people, when shipping fragile items, ship fragile goods with little to no packing and might have less than one inch of packing from the items and the side of the box. A rule of thumb is to use at least 6 inches of packing on all sides of a vacuum capacitor.

4. Never ship one lying on its side. Pack in VERTICAL position only.

The internals of a vacuum capacitor are thin, suspended, copper plates. If shifted, even a little, the capacitance of the vacuum capacitor can be effected or even cause a short.

5. Do NOT use Styrofoam or any other hard packing.

Do not use Styrofoam to ship vacuum capacitors as it is very hard and does not prevent any shock from reaching the capacitor. Use large bubble wrap or “cushy” soft foam only.

6. Do NOT use large air filled packaging.

Air filled packs can pop and leave a large area that a capacitor can move within. If a capacitor has area to move in, and the box takes a hit, that means the capacitor can take a worse and much more costly hit.

7. Do NOT use packing peanuts and crumpled news paper the wrong way.

Packing peanuts and crumpled newspaper, under the weight of vacuum capacitors, will compress and leave large areas of space that could allow for unprotected movement of the capacitor.

8. Use “cushy” packing.

Packing with soft foam and bubble wrap make great packing for vacuum capacitors.

Do not use priority mail flat rate boxes to ship any vacuum capacitors (other than some very small variables and some fixed capacitance types). They are all relatively flat and generally do not allow adequate packing to protect the goods. Ask us if the unit you have would be a candidate for flat rate box shipping.

Step 4:

Upon receiving the capacitor, we will begin executing the desired task as stated in our correspondence with you. Upon completion of that task we will call or email you to discuss further options and payment as you prefer.
